Installation Guide: VW Rear Red LED Emblem (Flip-Style Camera Compatible)

Thank you for your purchase. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth installation of your new LED emblem.

1. Package Contents

Your package includes:

• (1) Rear Red LED Emblem Housing
• (1) Wiring Harness / Plug

Note: This kit does not include a camera. You will be using your vehicle’s original factory camera.

2. Installation Process

The installation involves transferring your factory components to the new LED housing:

• Camera Transfer: You must carefully remove the reverse camera from your stock emblem and install it into our LED emblem.

• Reference Video: We have attached a detailed video demonstrating how to disassemble your stock parts and move them to the new housing.

3. Wiring Instructions

After you have successfully transferred the camera from the stock emblem and reinstalled the the camera to the new LED emblem, follow these steps to complete the electrical connection:

• Main Connection: Take the black plug and connect it directly to the back of the LED emblem.

• Power Connections: Connect the two-wire harness to your vehicle’s power source as follows:

  • Red Wire (+): Connect to the Taillight Positive terminal or license plate light’s positive wire.

  • Our engineers have confirmed that for all Golf 8/Golf 8.5 models, the positive (+) wire for the rear emblem must be connected to the license plate light’s positive wire.If it is connected to any other wiring harness, the LED will not receive enough power 

  • Black Wire (-): Connect to a secure Grounding point (Negative).

When connecting or disconnecting the Rear LED emblem, please make sure to firmly press the release tab on the plug. You can refer to the attached photo for the exact location of the clip. This will ensure a secure connection and prevent any damage to the pins.

To locate the license plate light’s positive wire, please refer to the attached video. You will find two wires: a positive and a negative. Simply connect the red wire from the emblem to the positive wire of the light.

Alternatively, for an even easier installation, you can use our specialized adapter plug. This allows you to connect directly to the license plate light housing without any cutting or splicing—true plug-and-play simplicity!

3. Important Safety Warning

⚠️ CRITICAL: Do not attempt to handle, adjust, or change the LED emblem assembly while the vehicle is in Reverse.

How much does the LED emblem protrude after installation?

 The LED emblem sits 15mm (1.5cm) further out than the stock emblem. This slight protrusion is necessary to house the internal LED components and the camera flip mechanism.

Does this emblem come with a camera?

No. This product is the LED emblem housing only. It is designed so that you can transfer your existing factory camera from your stock emblem into our new LED-integrated housing.

Can I get the LED in other colors?

This specific model is designed exclusively with a Static Red LED. We do not offer alternative colors for this version at this time. It features a clean, instant-on illumination with no startup animation.

Can I get the Black color rear led emblem ?

Currently, we only offer the rear LED emblem in Silver. We do not have other color options available at this time.

Is the installation difficult?

Yes. This is a complex installation that requires removing the trunk trim, disassembling the factory flip mechanism, and tapping into your vehicle’s wiring. If you are not experienced with automotive DIY, we strongly recommend professional installation.

Where do I connect the wires?

• Red Wire (+): Connect to the Taillight Positive terminal.
